Why the Moon Matters More Than You Think

As I look around, I see so many people in this Kali Yuga struggling with anxiety, emotional exhaustion, loneliness, overthinking, and a mind that simply refuses to become quiet. And this is precisely why I believe the Moon deserves far more attention in astrology than it usually receives.

The Moon is not just another planet in the horoscope. It is the foundation through which we experience life. Our Janma Rashi, the birth sign, is determined by the Moon, and our Janma Nakshatra is also determined by the Moon's position at the moment of birth. This alone tells you how central the Moon is to understanding a person's inner world.

You can have extraordinary Raja Yogas in your horoscope. You can have powerful planets sitting in excellent houses, wealth combinations, status-giving combinations, and every indication of worldly success. But if the Moon is severely afflicted, something very important can still remain missing.

The person may achieve everything—and still be unable to enjoy any of it.

This is one of the most painful contradictions of life. Someone can have money, a good career, a beautiful house, relationships, recognition, and every material comfort they once dreamed about, yet lie awake at night with a mind that refuses to give them peace.

People often say that money can buy almost anything.

To a considerable extent, it can.

It can buy comfort. It can buy treatment. It can buy security, experiences, beautiful surroundings, and freedom from many practical difficulties. But money cannot simply walk into a disturbed mind and tell it to become peaceful.

When the Moon is suffering, the person can carry their suffering everywhere.

They can sit in a palace and feel miserable.

They can travel the world and remain restless.

They can receive praise from everyone and still secretly feel empty.

That is why strengthening and stabilising the Moon should be one of the first priorities when analysing a horoscope. Before asking how much wealth a Raja Yoga can produce, perhaps we should first ask whether the person has the mental and emotional stability to experience that wealth as happiness.

Because ultimately, life is not only about what you manage to acquire.

It is also about whether your mind allows you to enjoy what you have acquired.

A powerful horoscope can give you the world.

But it is the Moon that determines how that world feels from inside you. 🌙
