How to Recognise an Afflicted Moon

How do you know whether your Moon is afflicted?

One of the simplest ways to observe it is not by looking at what happens to you, but by watching what happens inside you when life becomes difficult.

A person with an afflicted or weak Moon may find it extremely difficult to remain emotionally comfortable during challenging periods. Even an ordinary problem can feel disproportionately heavy. There can be a sense of emotional isolation, as though nobody truly understands what you are going through and the entire burden of life has suddenly been placed upon your shoulders.

The mind begins to magnify the difficulty.

Instead of seeing one problem, you start feeling as though everything is going wrong at once. You may become restless, emotionally overwhelmed, pessimistic, or mentally exhausted. Sometimes nothing outside has actually changed that much, but internally the situation feels unbearable.

This is where the strength of the Moon becomes visible.

A strong Moon does not mean that a person never suffers. It means that suffering does not completely destabilise them.

Even when circumstances become extremely difficult, they retain a certain inner stillness. They may become upset, they may worry, and they may even have moments of weakness—but somewhere inside, there remains the ability to breathe, think, wait, and respond.

They do not immediately drown in the situation.

They observe it.

They understand that this too has to be handled, and slowly begin figuring out what needs to be done.

That is the real strength of the Moon.

Emotional resilience is not the absence of emotion. It is the ability to experience emotion without allowing it to take complete control of your mind.

A weak Moon can make every storm feel like the end of the world.

A strong Moon can stand in the same storm and quietly ask, “What should I do now?”

And sometimes that difference tells you more about the Moon than any textbook definition ever could.
