🔥 The Three Fire Signs and the Fire They Represent

 

The three fire signs do not represent the same kind of fire. Each one expresses a different form of Agni, according to its nature and purpose.

Aries represents practical fire.

This is the fire used for immediate and earthly purposes—the fire of a stove that cooks food, the fire used to burn waste, or the flame that helps transform raw material into something useful.

Aries is the fire of action. It is direct, physical, and functional. It does not wait for contemplation or ceremony. It burns because something needs to be done.

Leo represents the fire within.

In Ayurveda, this can be compared to Jatharagni—the digestive fire that processes and transforms what enters the body. But Leo's fire goes beyond physical digestion. It also represents the inner fire of the soul, vitality, creativity, and the force that allows life to express itself.

This is why Leo can also be connected with the creative fire involved in conception and pregnancy—the vital force through which new life is carried and brought into existence.

Sagittarius represents sacred fire.

This is the fire of Dharma, the fire maintained during Yajnas and Vedic rituals. Unlike ordinary fire, its purpose is not merely to destroy. It purifies, transforms, and elevates.

Sagittarius also represents the flame of a torch—the fire that illuminates the path ahead and allows others to find their direction. It is the fire of knowledge, faith, philosophy, and higher purpose.

Thus, the three fire signs represent three different expressions of Agni:

Aries is the fire that acts.

Leo is the fire that sustains and creates.

Sagittarius is the fire that purifies and guides.
