Man: Not The End, But A Passage

The idea that man is created in the image of God is often repeated, yet rarely examined. Taken literally, it reduces the infinite to something human-shaped, projecting human limitations onto something that is meant to be beyond them. It suggests that whatever defines man—his desires, fears, weaknesses—must also define God. This assumption, accepted without much questioning, has quietly shaped the way people think, even among those considered rational or learned.

If one steps back from this notion, a different perspective begins to emerge. Man is not a finished creation, nor a final form. He is part of a much larger field—an expression within a vast, evolving energy that some choose to call God. This energy is not static. It is in constant motion, constantly transforming, and everything within it, including human beings, is subject to that same movement. What we call “man” is simply one stage within this unfolding process.

Even a basic observation of history makes this clear. The journey from early human life to the present state is not a leap, but a continuous progression. What began with the simplest acts—like creating fire—has extended into increasingly complex forms of expression and capability. Every invention, every breakthrough, is not separate from man, but an extension of him. The desire to fly gave rise to flight. The need to communicate across distance gave rise to communication systems. The urge to reduce effort and expand capacity led to machines and computation. What once seemed impossible gradually becomes ordinary, because it originates from something already present within.

In that sense, human evolution is not limited to biological change. It is also the unfolding of inner tendencies into outer reality. What is imagined, desired, or aspired to does not remain confined to thought. It moves outward through individuals, through time, until it takes form. What feels distant or unrealistic today often becomes commonplace tomorrow, not by accident, but because the impulse behind it continues to exist and seek expression.

So the question of “what comes next” does not have a fixed answer. It depends on what is being carried within—individually and collectively. The possibilities are not defined in advance, because the process itself is open-ended. If this larger field of energy is truly without limit, then the forms it can take are also without limit.

Man, then, is not the peak. He is a point along the way. A moment within a much larger movement—one that continues, whether understood or not.
