🌑⚖️ Bharani & Revati: Yama, Pushan & the Balance of Karma and Divine Guidance
In Vedic astrology, each nakshatra is associated with a presiding deity that reflects its deeper symbolic function. Bharani Nakshatra is governed by Yama, the deity associated with discipline, restraint, karmic justice, and the lawful consequences of action. Revati Nakshatra is governed by Pushan, one of the Adityas, who is symbolically associated with nourishment, protection, guidance, and safe passage through transitions.
From a symbolic perspective, Yama represents the principle of karmic accountability—where actions are observed, evaluated, and their consequences are experienced in due course. This is often interpreted as the force that ensures order, discipline, and ethical balance in the cycle of life.
Pushan, on the other hand, is traditionally understood as a guiding and protective force, associated with safe journeys, nourishment, and supportive transitions. In many interpretive traditions, Pushan is seen as a guiding principle that helps souls navigate difficult phases or transitions with protection and clarity.
When Bharani and Revati themes are viewed together in a symbolic framework, they can be interpreted as representing a complete cycle of karmic experience: one aspect emphasizing accountability, discipline, and consequence, and the other emphasizing guidance, support, and safe transition through change.
In this sense, the combination is understood not as literal interaction between deities, but as a philosophical balance between karmic law and compassionate guidance within the broader symbolic language of Vedic astrology.
