🌙 Why the Chandra Kundali Must Not Be Ignored

One should certainly begin the examination of a horoscope from the Ascendant, or Lagna. However, while doing so, many astrologers make the mistake of completely overlooking the Moon chart, or Chandra Kundali.

The Chandra Kundali is constructed by treating the sign occupied by the Moon as the first house. It is often casually described as a chart that merely represents the mind, emotions, and mental disposition of a person.

However, classical astrological principles give the Moon chart far greater importance than this.

If the Moon is strong and possesses greater strength than the Ascendant, predictive analysis should primarily be conducted from the Moon itself. In such cases, the Chandra Kundali can become the principal lens through which the major experiences of life are understood.

This is why the Chandra Kundali should never be neglected.

Rajayogas and adverse combinations formed in the Moon chart can manifest very strongly during their respective Mahadashas and Antardashas, provided the Moon itself possesses sufficient strength.

In fact, a combination may appear extremely auspicious when examined from the Ascendant and may even form a powerful Rajayoga. Yet, if the corresponding indications from the Moon chart are adverse, the results may not unfold in the manner one expects. The promise seen from the Lagna may be weakened, delayed, or accompanied by difficulties reflected through the Chandra Kundali.

The reverse can also be true. A chart that appears difficult from the Ascendant may contain considerable strength when examined from a powerful Moon.

Therefore, a serious astrological assessment should never rely exclusively on the Lagna chart. The Ascendant reveals one dimension of the horoscope, while the Moon provides another extremely important perspective through which the unfolding of life can be understood.

A complete analysis should therefore carefully examine both.
