If astrology had no importance, then why would Bhagwan Valmiki describe the planetary positions at the time of Lord Ram’s birth in the Ramayana at all? The text clearly highlights an exceptionally auspicious alignment of planets at that sacred moment, showing that cosmic timing itself is meaningful and deeply connected to the unfolding of dharma.

Even though certain details like Rahu, Ketu, and Mercury are not always explicitly listed in every recitation or version, the emphasis remains on the fact that specific planetary combinations were used to describe Ram’s birth. This reflects that ancient wisdom traditions did recognize and record planetary influence when explaining significant life events.

The very inclusion of these celestial references in a foundational epic like the Ramayana demonstrates that astrology was not treated as irrelevant—it was used as a meaningful framework to express cosmic order, destiny, and the significance of divine incarnation.
